Why does Ticketleap require "cookies" when purchasing tickets?

Cookies are used to identify users and save information for you while making a purchase. When using Ticketleap, enabling cookies on your browser is needed in order to track the status of your ticket buying session. Tracking the status includes things like telling the system whether you are logged in to your buyer account, what tickets are in your shopping cart, etc.
